IRAQ - SGI in charge of 4 Urban Master Plans in Salahaddin province

SGI has been awarded the Master Plans of Dowr, Bajii, Sharquat and Tuz cities.

A new significant addition to SGI’s projects in Iraq. Giorgio Galli, SGI’s Managing Director and Head of its Iraqi Operations, signed on June 30th in Tikrit, capital of Salahaddin province, 4 important contracts for the development of the Master Plans for the towns of Dowr, Bajii, Sharquat and Tuz in Salah Al Din governorate.

 

This is the first project in the Salahaddin province for SGI, which is currently working in 8 other Iraq provinces. Following the start-up of these projects, SGI will establish a new office in Tikrit, which will operate together with the Company’s other offices in the country located in Baghdad, Nassiriyah, Suleimaniyah and Erbil. These projects will be completed by the end of 2012 and will present a comprehensive plan for urban development of these four cities. The New Master Plans will contain set of targets and phased actions for named cities in upcoming years. The Plan will model and set up policies, strategies, proposals and interventions to achieve these targets. An interdisciplinary planning approach will provide a balanced development in all aspects and for the all needs of local people over a period of time extending to following 25 years.
