SEYCHELLES - SGI engaged for the Consultancy Services for Design and Implementation of Non-Revenue Water Program

The Government of Seychelles has received funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union, African Water Facility, the French Development Agency (AFD) and other funding agencies towards the cost of the Seychelles Water & Sanitation Project under the program known as Project NEPTUNE. The main objective of the programme is to alleviate water shortages through renewal and expansion of water supply on the three main islands to reduce water loss, improve energy efficiency and increase resilience of water supply to climate change, including capacity building of the involved key actors.

 

In November 2013 SGI has been contracted to carry out the Non-Revenue Water Reduction Program for the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) of Republic of Seychelles, one of the components of the Project NEPTUNE.

 

The assignment consists of:

 

Phase A, comprising the detailed design of the NRW Reduction Program and preparation of tender documents for both the procurement of goods under Phase A and the works contract(s) under Phase B, including assistance to the PUC during the Tender Period.

The main activities under phase A will include the NRW audit and the preparation of: Leakage Action Plan, Service Metering & Billing System Renewal Plan, District Metering Areas Plan including the necessary works to establish the DMAs, Network Rehabilitation Plan, NRW Reduction Program Report, Environmental Impact Assessment Report, and Tender Documents including works for DMA establishment and works for network rehabilitation.

 

Phase B, comprising the implementation of the NRW Reduction Program, contract administration and supervision of all the necessary construction works, in addition to overall coordination and planning of works with all stakeholders, and assistance during the Defects Notification Period.
