MALESIA - Santubong Bridge in Kuching Division, Sarawak

In August 2104 SGI was engaged for the Preliminary and Final Design of the new bridge crossing the Santubong channel in Kuching Division, Sarawak.

The Santubong Bridge is a private initiative of a Malaysian Construction Company, required for the development of the northern area of the Santubong channel in Kuching.

The bridge is of critical importance for the planned residential development of the area as it will be the only access to that region.


Some technical information:
It will be a multispan prestressed concrete bridge.
The platform of the road to access the area will foresee four vehicle lanes and two walkways with a total width of 22.00m.
The cross section is a multibox type with a variable height between 2.50 and 5.00m.
The bridge will also be used to support water service pipes for the new area.
